In Easy Rider (1969), Two bikers Billy and Wyatt immediately rejected at a motel when they ask for a room because of their hippie look. The manager flashes the NO Vacancy sign at them then they camp outdoors.
But the scene transition doesn’t look normal to me as it appears to have a back-and-forth editing effect.:
