In App Center how to identify whether an app is packaged as snap or deb
On Ubuntu 26.04 LTS when you search for apps in App Center (by Canonical) you cannot tell for sure if an app is a snap package or a deb package. When you open app description the header lacks the info about package type, which is really a shame.
Sometimes I can find that info by carefully reading the app description below app screenshots (which can be quite long).
Is there any a solution for that not obvious to me?
Here is a screenshot showing header info for an app:

Top Answer/Comment:
If both a deb version of the app is available in the Ubuntu official repositories, along with the snap version, you will get a choice when you search for the app.
Take Blender as an example
When you search for Blender, the drop-down menu shows shap as well as the deb versions under specific headers (circled in blue below):

You will also see the option to show all results (circled in red). If you click Show All Results you will see:
Here you can filter the results by snap or deb packages.
If you pick the snap version of Blender you will see:
As you see, it says under Channel: Latest/Stable. This is a sure sign of a snap package. You will also note that the package size is 436 MB.
If you pick the deb version you will get a slightly different picture:

Note, there are no channel information and the package size is 163 MB.
I hope this helps
