Can the Indonesia visa agents get a visa offline for you?

I have been having serious problems with the official Imigrasi eVisa website, and I am wondering whether visa agents or lawyers in Indonesia have any way to process a visa application without relying on the online portal.

One Imigrasi office told me last year that since the eVisa portal became the main system, there are no longer any in-person “shortcuts” or special offline channels for visa agents to use. However, I am not sure whether this is true across Indonesia, or specifically in Bali.

I have also noticed that some visa agents seem to be shutting down, becoming less responsive, or saying they cannot help with certain visa issues anymore. That makes me think that what I was told is actually correct.

Does anyone know if licensed visa agents in Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia still have any offline or manual way to obtain a visa, or are they now required to use the same online eVisa system as everyone else?

Top Answer/Comment:

No, you have to get your visa before entering the country, so I cannot see how they could help you. But if you are eligible for VOA, you should be able to get it at the airport when you arrive. If nothing has changed last year, you can get an extension by visiting the local immigration office, but it will take five days and you need to go there three times (day one application, then you need to pay the fee at a post office or supermarket, day 2 for making the biometric photographs, day 3 collect your passport. You are not allowed to leave the province during the process.

Check the official government sites for up to date information.
